Seven on Seven Weekender c/o The White Building

03/05/2014 - 04/05/2014 All Day

SEVEN ON SEVEN WEEKENDER C/O THE WHITE BUILDING

To celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Rhizome’s seminal Seven on Seven art and technology collaboration platform, The White Building will be hosting a weekend of events and exhibitions around the theme of collaborative art and technology practices.

Conceived by the New York based arts organisation Rhizome in 2010, the Seven on Seven conference pairs seven leading artists with seven influential technologists in teams of two, and challenges them to develop something new–whatever they choose to imagine—over the course of a single day.

The White Building will host the livestream of the 5th anniversary Seven on Seven Event on Saturday night – beaming all the action live from the New Museum in New York. The exhibition Seven on Seven Redux will run throughout the weekend in the ground floor exhibition space, showcasing highlights from past Seven on Seven initiatives, including work by Ryan Trecartin, Aaron Swartz and Haroon Mirza.  Sunday’s forum INTER-PRACTICE will provide a platform for the public and key figures from both the art world and tech to critically discuss art – tech collaborations, with a focus on the UK context.
